greens launch the state campaign

Today the Victorian Greens officially launched their state election campaign.

It's always great to see Bob in Melbourne.
Brian Walters has a real chance of winning the lower house seat of Melbourne, whilst Richard di Natale is Victoria's first Green Senator.

The roll call of lead candidates.
Bob calls all the candidates to the stage.

On the left is Catherine Manning, our candidate for Hastings, Catherine has been a vocal opponent to the expansion of the Port of Hastings, on the right is Ann Birrell, Greens candidate for Albert Park.

Colleen Hartland, MLC for Western Metropolitan, Colleen has been a strong voice for the people of the western suburbs, the Greens are your voice in the parliament keeping the government accountable.

Damian Magner is the Greens candidate for Eastern Metropolitan. Like all Greens he has a vision for good quality public transport across the East of Melbourne, he even has a plan.

On the left is Rose Iser, candidate for Essendon, up against planning Minister, Justin Madden, in the middle is Penelope Swales, who is number 3 on the upper house ticket for Eastern Victoria.

Greg Barber, MLC for Northern Metro, has been instrumental in calling the government to account, his inquiry into train failures highlighted the ongoing and systemic failures of our rail public transport system.

This is just a small slice of the candidates at the launch as we lined up on stage, there were many more unpictured as numbers swelled spilling over to the floor - from left to righ: Sue Pennicuik, Liam Farrelly, Samantha Dunn, Bob Brown, Brian Walters, Colleen Hartland, Kathleen Maltzhan, Nick Carson, Greg Barber, event signer, Cyndi Dawes, Catherine Manning, Janet Rice and Damian Magner.

Tim Baxter is our candidate for Box Hill and is committed to the redevelopment of the Box Hill interchange.

Adam Bandt made history by becoming the first Greens elected to the Federal parliament, lets make history again with the Victorian State Election.

This is John Janetzki our candidate for Mulgrave.

Sue Pennicuik, MLC for Southern Metropolitan. She has been a voice for Eastern Victoria too, standing up against channel deepening, logging of Brown Mountain and the inappropriate Bastion Point development in Mallacoota. More Greens in parliament will give an even greater voice to the people of Victoria.

Here's Matthew Billman, Greens candidate for Clayton, Matthew works in the public transport industry, when he talks about public transport he really gets it.

It's terrific to see the Senators supporting the Victorian Greens campaign, here's Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, she's been a great advocate for the Murray Darling basin, children rights and asylum seekers.
